Communities of Practice

A community of practice is a group of cross-divisional faculty and instructional staff who are interested in collaboratively learning about and integrating new teaching practices or technologies that will postively impact the teaching and learning that happens in their courses.

External Communites of Practice

Name Description 
(GLCA/GLAA) Started in fall 2018, the Consortium for Teaching & Learning formed five learning communities to connect colleagues from many GLCA campuses.
(AAC&U) A global membership organization dedicated to advancing the vitality and democratic purposes of undergraduate liberal education.
(VIPEr) VIPEr is both a repository of inorganic chemistry teaching materials and a user-friendly platform for social networking tools that facilitate virtual collaboration and community building
(NCFDD) A national organization that is dedicated to supporting academics in making successful transitions throughout their careers.
Faculty Focus is a free newsletter and website that publishes three articles each week written by instructors, teachers, instructional designers and others from around the world, where they provide insight into whatÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s working (and whatÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s not) in the classroom and online.
