Fractured Fairy Tales

A Rapunzel with a punk-pixie cut? Cool! Prince & The Pauper in outer space? Sounds awesome! This is a dreamy class for aspiring playwrights, actors, directors, and theatre makers! Participants are given a theme at the top of the week and the opportunity to re-tell, create, and perform their own take on a treasured tale!

Daily activities include creative drama games, daily storytelling, arts and crafts, and ensemble work.

Improv Camp

Unlock your comedic potential with Improv Camp. Performers will learn the art of quick thinking and adaptability through a variety of fun and interactive improvisation exercises and games. This camp is perfect for aspiring actors and comedians or anyone looking to boost their creativity and confidence.

Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, ensemble work, and improvisation games.

Theatrical Design Camp

Grades 6ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“8 | MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | 9 a.m.ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“noon

Explore theatre through the elements of design. In Theatrical Design Camp, young artists will work with experienced theatre artists to learn about scenic, costume, props and lighting design. Campers will brainstorm and share ideas, participate in hands-on design exercises, and finalize their own designs around the weekÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s camp theme. This is a unique opportunity for young artists to discover creative fields that support performance. Camps will culminate in design presentations for very important producers (a.k.a., friends and family) on the final day of each session.

Daily activities include imaginative warm-ups, creative drama games, design projects, and crafts. Students present their design projects at 11 a.m. to family and friends on the last day of camp.

Musical Theatre Camp

Grades 3ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“5 | MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | 1ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“4:30 p.m.

Get ready to sing, dance and have a blast while learning theatre fundamentals. Campers will experience the excitement of singing, dancing and acting with other young creatives as they work together in an ensemble to create a final performance for friends and family.

Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, drama games, rehearsals and crafts. The final performance will be at 3:30 p.m. on the last day of camp. 

July 1, 2, 3 & 5, 2024

Creative Drama Camp

Explore the wonder of theatre and learn to express your creative side in Creative Drama Camp. Campers will experience the excitement of acting and connect with other young creatives as they work together in an ensemble playing games, creating characters, and more!

Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, drama games, rehearsals, and crafts. There is no final performance for this class.

Performing Arts Camp

Explore the wonder of theatre and learn to express your creative side in Performing Arts Camp. Campers will experience the excitement of acting and connect with other young creatives as they work together in an ensemble to create a final performance inspired by Hope Repertory Theatre childrenÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s show, Dragon Snack Pack Attack.

Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, drama games, rehearsals and crafts.

SuperHero Camp

Grades 3ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“5 | MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | 1ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“4:30 p.m.

Perfect for comic book readers and superhero movie fanatics! Alongside our teaching artists, you can build your own version of your favorite superhero comic book! A great class for young creative writers, actors and artists! Participants are given a theme at the top of the week and the opportunity to re-write, re-tell and perform their own take on a comic book favorite.

Daily activities include comic book reads, drama games, and comic book creation. The final showing of created materials will be at 3:30 p.m. for family and friends on the last day of camp.

Playwriting Camp

Grades 6ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“8 | MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | 1ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“4:30 p.m.

Explore the wonder of theatre and learn to express your creative side in Playwriting Camp. Participants will experience the excitement of dramatic writing and connect with other young creatives as they work together in an ensemble.

Daily activities include group warm-ups, writing exercises, and ensemble building. The final performance will be a reading of the plays at 3:30 p.m. for family and friends on the last day of camp.

July 22ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“26, 2024

29-Hour Film-Making Camp ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“ Grades 6ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“12
MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | Full Day

Lights, camera, action! Take your first step toward the silver screen in the 29-Hour Film-Making Camp! In the span of 29 contact hours, young creatives will write and produce their own short film! 

Daily activities include writing, directing, acting and editing. The final performance will be a showing of the films at 3:30 p.m. for family and friends on the last day of camp.

July 29ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“August 2, 2024

Broadway Bootcamp ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É” Grades 6-12
MondayÑÇÖÞÉ«°É“Friday | Full Day

Act, sing, dance! Develop your triple threat skills as you work with Hope Rep teaching artists. Participants will work as an ensemble as well as to rehearse and perform a showcase of songs, as well as develop audition material that could be submitted for virtual auditions for any musical theatre production!

Daily activities include physical and vocal warm-ups, acting exercises, and movement and music rehearsals. The final performance will be at 3:30 p.m. for family and friends on the last day of camp. Lunch is not provided.
