Hope College will honor 10 young alumni with its annual ɫɜ10 Under 10 Awardsɫɝ on Friday, Oct. 13, during the collegeɫəs ɫɜOne Big Weekend (Homecoming + Family Weekend)ɫɝ celebration.

They will be honored during a reception on Friday, Oct. 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 during an Under 10 Soirée at Piek Events on the fifth floor of the Tulyp Hotel.  They will also participate in a panel discussion earlier in the day on Friday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. in Winants Auditorium of Graves Hall, during which they will share perspective based on their educational and professional journeys.

Admission is free to both events, although advance registration is required for the evening reception.  Registration is available through hope.edu/onebigweekend

The :  Megan Altieri ɫə13, artist, author and founder of Sonder Articles; Emily Armbruster ɫə13, senior scientist at NanoImaging Services; Meredith Busman ɫə14, emergency medicine physician and sub-elite marathoner; Parker Bussies ɫə14, obstetrics and gynecology resident physician and molecular biology Ph.D. candidate at Cleveland Clinic; Lauren Ezzo ɫə14, voice actor and audiobook narrator; Gavin Midlam ɫə16, designer, entrepreneur and founder of The House of Leon; Alec Norkey ɫə13, ethnomusicology researcher and violinist; Sarah Jane Peterson ɫə15, research psychology postdoctoral research fellow at University of Michigan; Karly Ferguson ɫə15 Raklovits, therapist at Bronson Sexual Assault Services; and Regina Sanchez-Gonzalez ɫə15, recruiting lead at Block (FKA Square).

The ɫɜ10 Under 10 Awardsɫɝ honor emerging leaders who are making significant contributions by living out their callings; engaged in the local and global community through professional and/or volunteer involvement; and use their education to think about important issues with wisdom and clarity, communicate effectively to bridge boundaries that divide human communities and act as agents of hope living faithfully into their vocations.  Designed for alumni who are within 10 years of graduation, they are presented by the Hope College Alumni Association.

The annual awards which debuted in the fall of 2018, succeeded the Hope College Alumni Associationɫəs Young Alumni Award program that ran from 2007 through 2017.  Recipients are chosen by a committee of Alumni Board members, faculty and staff from among nominations made by members of the extended Hope community.  More information about the ɫɜ10 Under 10 Awardsɫɝ program and a nomination form are available at hope.edu/alumni/awards
