The De Pree Art Center and Gallery at Hope College is presenting the annual Juried Student Art Show from Friday, Nov. 18, through Thursday, Dec. 8.
The exhibitionÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s juror, Cooper Holoweski of Cranbrook Academy of Art, will deliver a jurorÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s talk on Friday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. in Cook Auditorium of the De Pree Art Center. There will be closing reception on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the gallery.
The public is invited to the exhibition, jurorÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s talk and closing reception. Admission is free.
Open to all students at Hope, the competitive exhibition is an annual fixture in the De Pree Gallery. Each year, the Department of Art and Art History invites a recognized artist or curator to judge the student work.
Cooper Holoweski co-leads the Print Media department at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Holoweski makes videos, sculptures, sound, and printed matter using everyday materials and recognizable consumer products designed to operate at the intersection of mind, body and spirit.
The De Pree Gallery will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, because of the collegeÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s Thanksgiving Break. Those without a Hope College ID, which is necessary to gain access through the front door, should call the Department of Art and Art History at 616-395-7500 to gain entry.
