The De Pree Art Center and Gallery at Hope College will close its fall season with two exhibitions running Monday, Nov. 22, through Thursday, Dec. 9: the ɫɜJuried Student Showɫɝ and ɫɜConstructed Mysteries: Spirituality and Creative Practice.ɫɝ

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The competitive ɫɜJuried Student Showɫɝ is an annual fixture in the De Pree gallery, and is open to all students at Hope.  Each year, the Department of Art and Art History invites a recognized artist or curator to judge the student work.

ɫɜConstructed Mysteriesɫɝ is curated by Kenneth Steinbach and Michelle Westmark Wingard, and includes work from 10 artists examining prescient issues from a perspective of faith. Steinbach is an artist, curator, writer, and professor of art at Bethel University in Minneapolis, and is also serving as the juror for this yearɫəs ɫɜJuried Student Show.ɫɝ

Due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Hope is currently requiring that masks be worn by all individuals while indoors on campus unless in their living space or alone in their workspace.

The De Pree Art Center and Gallery is located at 275 Columbia Ave., between 10th and 13th streets. The gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25 and 26, because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Attendance is by appointment, and guests should visit the galleryɫəs website at hope.edu/depree to register.
