Amelia Mendelsohn
Visiting Assistant Professor of ArtAmelia Mendelsohn teaches basic courses in drawing and painting at Hope College as a visiting assistant professor. She previously taught as an instructor at the University of Notre Dame and currently serves on the board for Sweet Briar CollegeÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s Friends of Art.
Her current paintings explore family dynamics, conflict, and memory within the home through a feminist understanding of the domestic sphere. Professor MendelsohnÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. in Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. In 2022, she participated in Kylemore Abbey Global CentreÑÇÖÞÉ«°É™s artist residency program and exhibited her work in Ireland. She has been teaching at Hope since 2023.
