Detail of postcard of artwork by Jonathan FreyThe work in this exhibition explores national identity, largely focusing on iconic representations of the United States and the myths, clichés and stereotypes they often come to represent. In addition,  has always identified as a person somewhere between the mainstream and the marginalized, which informs his way of thinking about art and the world, and, in turn, has led him to these questions: What does it mean to occupy a middle ground? Is it a beneficial position?
