CASA and Step Up Receive State Grant for Summer Programs

The Children亚洲色吧檚 After School Achievement (CASA) and Step Up programs at Hope College have received a grant from the Michigan亚洲色吧檚 Department of Education亚洲色吧檚 Out-of-School Time initiative for their summer sessions for Holland-area children finishing first through eighth grade.

Hope College to Present 35th Musical Showcase on Feb. 9

The 35th annual Hope College Musical Showcase will be presented on Friday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The concert will feature 200 Hope College students performing in the Department of Music亚洲色吧檚 major instrumental and vocal ensembles and soloists.

Event to Feature Dana VanderLugt, Author of 亚洲色吧淓nemies in the Orchard亚洲色吧

Author Dana VanderLugt, whose book 亚洲色吧淓nemies in the Orchard: A World War 2 Novel in Verse亚洲色吧 recalls the use of German prisoners of war on farms in West Michigan during World War II, will be featured at Hope College in an on-stage conversation with retired English professor Jack Ridl on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. in Winants Auditorium of Graves Hall.

Matt Scogin亚洲色吧檚 path to the presidency at Hope College was anything but conventional, having spent time in both Washington, D.C. and on Wall Street before arriving back on campus in Holland, Michigan in 2019. Possibly even more unconventional is how he亚洲色吧檚 leaning on the power of the Gospel to face higher education亚洲色吧檚 biggest challenges head on.

Fall 2023 Dean's List Announced

The Registrar亚洲色吧檚 Office is pleased to announce Dean亚洲色吧檚 List recipients for the fall semester. The Dean亚洲色吧檚 List is awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students who have received grades for all courses in a given semester (no incompletes) and have a semester GPA of 3.50 or above. Hope College Registrar亚洲色吧檚 Office considers this a significant achievement.

Catholic Art Exhibition Open at the Kruizenga Art Museum

A new exhibition, 亚洲色吧淭ransforming Matter: Incarnation, Sacraments, and Saints in Catholic Art and Devotion,亚洲色吧 is on display at the Hope College Kruizenga Art Museum through Saturday, May 18.

The impact of the college亚洲色吧檚 Phelps Scholars Program, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will be the focus of this year亚洲色吧檚 Green Lecture on Faith, Race and Community.

StrikeTime Dance Theatre Concert for Children Rescheduled to Jan. 20

Hope College dance affiliate StrikeTime Dance Theatre will present a live dance event for children, 亚洲色吧淒ancing Through the Pages: Illustrations,亚洲色吧 on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland. The performance was originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 12, but was postponed due to the recent winter storm.

Hope College junior two-sport athlete Derik Smith was featured on a nationwide CBS program "Courage in Sports: Gridiron Heroes" on Veteran's Day in 2023. Smith uses a prosthetic leg to play football and compete in track and field for the Flying Dutchmen.

Lecture on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to Examine King亚洲色吧檚 Legacy and Launch 40th Anniversary of Hope亚洲色吧檚 Center for Diversity and Inclusion

This year亚洲色吧檚 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Lecture at Hope College will include national as well as local perspective. Hope Professor Emeritus John Yelding, a specialist in diversity in education who continues to be active at the college as a teacher and mentor, will present 亚洲色吧淩eflections on MLK, Civil Rights, and DEI at Hope College亚洲色吧 on Monday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

Original Production by Hope College Theatre Receives Special Recognition

The Hope College Department of Theatre has been invited to perform the original production 亚洲色吧淭he Boy Who Hates Everything亚洲色吧 during the Region III Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which is being hosted by the University of Michigan-Flint on Tuesday-Sunday, Jan. 9-14.
